Edward Thornton – Currently holds the MSRH Lap Record with 1:31, he is fun, exciting, and knows how to fly around the circuit. He will be coaching the fastest riders on Memorial day who are looking to improve their knowledge of this track and drop some time!
Paul Garcia – CMRA Expert – Paul is an amazing guy, I have been watching his racing career since he was a novice. He is always in the front group and keeps getting better and better! I am so excited he has decided to join us! Paul holds a PB of 1:35:53 at MSR Houston!
Steven Shakespeare – MotoAmerica Racer and CMRA Expert – “Shake” just keeps getting faster and better all the time he currently holds a PB of 1:37.03 at MSRH !! Shake loves racing and simply infects everyone with his passion! He also competes on a Ninja 400 and is SHAKING UP the light weight class! Shake just made his debut in MotoAmerica!
Michael Kelsel – Mike is a MSR Houston “Local” he is at the track all the time working with his race tuner John Hutchinson he is a CMRA Expert and is also just a super nice guy with TONS of knowledge he has a PB at MSRH of 1:35 !!! A day with Mike at this circuit that he is intimately familiar with will be awesome!
Art Fonseca – GM Mentoring and Lead Mentor for Respect the Craft,
CMRA Expert Racer, Former Ridesmart ARC Instructor, Member of TXSR Leadership Team– Having been an organizer for Texas Sport Bike Riders since 2014, Art has extensive experience in organizing rides, meet and greets, events, and leading training sessions. Additionally, he was a contributing member of RideSmart Motorcycle School, an Austin-based organization which hosts track days at all Texas tracks to include Circuit of The Americas (COTA). Art served as a school instructor for beginner and intermediate level classes and led the Advanced Riders Course. Art holds a personal best laptime of 1:39 at MSR Houston!
Simon Hertell – AKA “Cosmo” – Cosmo was almost literally raised on the race track. He has been competing since he was 7 years old! He became a CMRA Expert in 2016, and he currently has a PB of 1:46 at MSRH …. on a R3 he has a wealth of knowledge in road racing which has been his life. A day with Cosmo will be a treat for anyone wanting to learn more!
Rob Green – CMRA Racer and former Coach – Rob Green is an avid road race fan, dirt bike rider, and all around lover of the sport. He has an infectious positive attitude and we are thrilled that he will be working with us!
“JET” Jonathan Thayer – TXSR Organizer Austin, CMRA Racer – “JET” As we call him is one of my personal best friends and has done tremendous things for the community. In 2014 he started the “Second Sunday Easy Ride” In Austin Texas and helps new riders every month. I met him at Cycle Gear years ago and took him to his first trackday, he later on became an instructor with RideSmart and also became a CMRA Racer. He did his first round on his R6 at Hallet in May and WON his class in F40 Novice. He is a class act on and off the track and I am proud and blessed he is on the team!

Damien Kimbrough – BIG TEX
CMRA Racer, Harris Hill Raceway TMA Instructor – Down to earth, fun, fast, and great photos! Damien has been helping riders at Harris Hill via the Texas Motorcycle Academy “how we roll” course. He not only will make you a better rider but he’s likely going to keep you smiling all day. Super fun guy!!
Paul Carter – Coach, Instructor, Mentor, TXSR San Antonio Founder and Owner of Sport Bike Repair in San Antonio Texas. – Paul is quite possibly the most experienced “coach, instructor, mentor” in the entire line up. Paul has helped countless riders get to “level 3” aka advanced etc.
Bobby Crandell – I met Bobby at a MSRH Member day in 2018 as I was starting the 3:16 Program, he told me he was going to focus to win a championship in 2019. He did !! He not only won his novice class championship but now has a PB at MSRH of 1:41 !!! He knows the work it takes to get to the next level and is ready to share his knowledge!
David Aue – Fitness, Discipline, Tenacity are what come to mind when I think of David. He is an up and coming Novice Racer fully dedicated to getting better and faster. He is also a Martial Arts teacher full time by craft and has a great way of connecting with students. I believe many will be calling him Sensei as his racing and teaching with us develops! His MSRH PB is 1:45 and he’s ready to help you take a step up!
Julie Lopez – I brought Julie into this event .. almost had to beg her. She is part of the MSRH Community, CMRA Community, her and her husband Memo are always helping people out. She has been a Member at MSRH for years, she knows every detail of the track, and she is constantly bringing new people into the sport. Her LOVE for others and Racing is what I can’t wait for people to experience. It doesn’t hurt that she’s FAST too and can run 1:47 at MSRH easily! I don’t know what her PB is .. she won’t tell me .. she has no ego.
Kyle Mallett – Kyle Joined us to help coach Labor day 2019 and the feedback from his riders was great! He cares about riders, he’s getting faster himself, and currently has a PB at MSRH of 1:50
Marquis Davis – Lead Instructor

Marquis Davis, born in Okinawa, Japan. Started riding at the age of nine on dirt bikes, in high school started riding cruiser motorcycles. Started riding Sportbike in 1993. First track day was at the HockenheimRing in Germany. Been doing track days ever since. Now I have the opportunity to race on the FMD endurance race team with the help of Raceforthewounded.com. Also have been coaching other riders when I can. Attend riding classes every few years to keep learning and improving — being as safe as possible.
Jason Abbott – CMRA Racer, Harris Hill Instructor – Jason instructs at Harris Hill, Races in the CMRA and enjoys helping riders “find the lines” and become better riders.

I am one of the founders of TexasSportBikeRiders.com where the idea of “Mentoring” was developed. I have worked with several trackday organizations and developed this unique and new format where the mission is to deliver “enjoyable and usable track time”.
In my last CMRA Race this February I managed a 1:54 … I’ll be working on myself this day and riding alongside all of you to become a better rider too!! Of course if you need anything at any time I will do everything I can to help you get the most out of your day with us!
